Meet on a weekend rather than a weekday:
It’s important to be relaxed, switch off and really be present, focused on getting to know one another. Which is why I recommend planning the first date on a weekend, after a good night’s sleep, and not after a long and stressful day at work. Daytime rather than night time also opens many more options in terms of location and what to do.
Move around rather than stay in the same place:
I coach sometimes in nature while walking. Enjoying the fresh air, the beauty around us helps open up and keep a conversation flowing. My advice, start outdoors. Even if it means, meeting in the train station and walking together to a coffee shop. Also, I would recommend not staying too long in one place. For example, walking to a coffee shop for example, having a drink, moving on to the next place for a small lunch, dessert etc.change of scenery and movement help keep the energy light and the conversation at flow.
Wear something that emphasises on what you love about your body:
Tastefully focus on a part of your body you are proud of. Being aware of it will give you a boost of confidence.
Be passionately curious:
You are a blank piece of paper to the person you are now meeting for the very first time. You have the power to decide what to write on this paper. Make it count! Talk about topics you feel most passionate about. Plans you have, get excited and ask your date about what he or she are love doing. Speaking about things we are passionate about brings the best in us!
At the end of the date, thank your date and later on, send a small and sweet followup:
I can not emphasise enough on how important this part is! Its the cherry on the top. At the end of the date, No matter how well it went, thank your date for the lovely time you have spent together. This act itself can sometimes reverse the way someone feels. Also, 1-2 days later, send a small message, something light, funny, anything. This gesture requires little effort on your behalf and keeps a window open incase you choose to reconnect.
